Short version: We only collect what you send us through our contact form (plus basic technical data to keep the site secure). We use it only to respond to you. We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, we use no advertising trackers, and our form is 18+ only with automatic blocking of under-18 submissions.
1. Scope & who this covers
This Policy applies to personal information we collect through this website (trinex site, contact form, email/phone inquiries) when you are acting as an individual or household member. It is written for U.S. residents and is designed to address applicable U.S. requirements, including:
- Federal: FTC Act (unfair/deceptive practices), Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA, 15 U.S.C. §§ 6501–6506), CAN-SPAM Act (commercial email), Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) for calls/texts, and related FTC guidance (including the COPPA Rule amendments with compliance deadline April 22, 2026).
- State comprehensive privacy laws in effect in 2026 (20 states): California (CCPA as amended by CPRA + 2026 regulations), Virginia (VCDPA), Colorado (CPA), Connecticut (CTDPA + 2026 amendments), Utah (UCPA), Florida (FDBR), Oregon (OCPA), Texas (TDPSA), Montana (MCDPA), Iowa (ICDPA), Delaware (DPDPA), Nebraska (NDPA), New Hampshire (NHPA), New Jersey (NJCPA), Tennessee (TIPA), Minnesota (MCDPA), Maryland (MODPA), Indiana (INCDPA — eff. 1/1/2026), Kentucky (KCDPA — eff. 1/1/2026), Rhode Island (RIDPA — eff. 1/1/2026). We apply a consistent, high-standard set of rights to all U.S. users regardless of state (see §9).
- State minor / health / other protections where applicable (e.g., Connecticut and other states’ heightened protections for minors’ data, California Delete/ data-broker rules to the extent they apply — we are not a data broker).
There is currently no single comprehensive federal consumer privacy law in the U.S.; we therefore honor the strictest applicable state standard (opt-in consent for sensitive data, purpose limitation, data minimization, honoring opt-out preference signals) for everyone.
This Policy is for transparency and is not legal advice. If you need legal advice, consult a licensed attorney.
2. Age requirement — 18+ only; children’s privacy (COPPA & state minor laws)
Our website, contact form, and services are intended solely for adults aged 18 and older acting for business purposes. We do not direct any content to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 through this site.
- Form enforcement: The contact form requires Date of Birth (DOB) and an explicit “I am 18 or older” checkbox. Our system calculates age at submission. If age is under 18, submission is automatically blocked, the DOB entry is cleared from the form, and nothing is transmitted to us. You will see an on-screen notice explaining the block.
- COPPA (under 13): Consistent with COPPA, we do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13, do not seek verifiable parental consent because we do not offer child-directed services, and will delete any such information if we learn it was inadvertently provided. Parents/guardians may contact us at trinex57@gmail.com to review or request deletion.
- Ages 13–17: Even though COPPA applies under 13, several states now give heightened protection to minors under 16/18 (e.g., opt-in consent for sale/sharing, limits on profiling/targeted advertising). As a stricter business rule, we treat all under-18 inquiries as out of scope: minors must not use the form. A parent or legal guardian who is 18+ may contact us on a minor’s behalf for a legitimate business inquiry (e.g., a school or family business).
- DOB use: DOB is used only for 18+ age verification and fraud prevention. It is not used for marketing, profiling, or sale. If a submission is blocked for age, we do not retain the DOB.
- If you believe a minor provided data: email us with subject “Minor Data Deletion” and we will verify and delete it promptly (generally within 30 days) without retaining more than necessary to confirm the request.
3. Personal information we collect
3.1 Information you provide directly
| Category | Examples | Purpose |
| Contact identifiers | Name, email, phone number | Respond to inquiry, schedule calls |
| Business context | Company name, service needed, message content | Prepare quote / recommendation |
| Age-verification data | Date of birth, 18+ checkbox, privacy-consent checkbox + timestamp | Enforce 18+ rule, prove consent, comply with COPPA/state minor laws |
| Correspondence | Emails, call notes you share | Customer support, record-keeping |
We do not request Social Security numbers, government IDs, financial account numbers, precise geolocation, health/genetic data, biometrics, or other sensitive personal information as defined by state laws. Please do not send such data via the form. If you include it voluntarily, we will handle it as sensitive (opt-in consent required, limited use, enhanced security) and may delete or redact it.
3.2 Information collected automatically
- Technical / security data: IP address (truncated where possible), browser type, device/OS, pages viewed, date/time, referrer — used for security, fraud prevention, and aggregated site improvement.
- Cookies / local storage: See our Cookie Policy. We use only (a) strictly necessary cookies/storage (e.g., remembering cookie choice) and (b) optional functional/analytics if you consent. We do not use third-party advertising cookies, pixels, or cross-site trackers.
- Form processor metadata: When you submit, our form handler (FormSubmit.co) transmits the form over HTTPS and emails it to us. FormSubmit may process IP/technical headers to deliver the email and prevent spam. See §5.
3.3 Information we do NOT collect
We do not purchase data lists, do not use data brokers, do not conduct cross-context behavioral advertising, do not profile for consequential decisions (e.g., credit, employment), and do not use automated decision-making technology (ADMT) that has legal or similarly significant effects.
4. How and why we use personal information (purpose limitation & minimization)
We follow data minimization: we collect only what is reasonably necessary for these disclosed purposes:
- Respond to, evaluate, and fulfill your inquiry/quote request (including by email or phone).
- Verify you are 18+ and record consent (legal compliance).
- Operate, secure, and improve the website (e.g., prevent spam/abuse, fix errors).
- Comply with law, enforce our Terms, and protect rights/safety.
- Send only transactional/administrative messages related to your inquiry (e.g., confirmation, follow-up). We do not send bulk marketing emails. Any future marketing would require separate opt-in consent and an unsubscribe option per CAN-SPAM.
We do not use personal information for incompatible secondary purposes without your consent.
5. How we share / disclose (no sale, no sharing for advertising)
- No sale / no share for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information (as “sale” is defined under CA and other state laws, including for monetary or other valuable consideration) and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We therefore do not offer a “Do Not Sell/Share” toggle, but we still honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) opt-out signals as described in §7 and treat any opt-out request as valid.
- Service providers / processors (limited, necessary):
- FormSubmit.co (form delivery): Form fields are POSTed via HTTPS to
https://formsubmit.co/trinex57@gmail.com which emails the submission to us. FormSubmit acts as a processor on our behalf. We use its spam/honeypot features and do not authorize it to use data for its own marketing. See FormSubmit privacy (third-party).
- Email/phone carriers: When we reply, your email/phone provider necessarily handles the message.
- No other routine sharing. We do not share with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics vendors unless you separately consent (currently none are used).
- Legal / safety disclosures: Only if required by valid law, subpoena, or to protect rights, safety, or prevent fraud/illegal activity — and then only the minimum necessary.
- Business transfer: If Trinex is acquired/merged, personal information may transfer subject to this Policy and notice to you where required.
6. Cookies, trackers & preference signals
- Details in our Cookie Policy and via the on-site cookie banner → Customize controls.
- Global Privacy Control (GPC) / opt-out preference signals: Where required (e.g., California, Colorado, Connecticut, and others that recognize universal opt-out mechanisms), we treat a GPC / opt-out preference signal as a valid request to opt out of any sale/sharing or targeted advertising. Because we do not sell/share, there is nothing to opt out of, but we log and respect the signal and keep non-essential cookies off by default when GPC is detected.
- Do Not Track (DNT): There is no uniform DNT standard; we prioritize GPC. You can also block cookies in your browser settings — the site will still work for reading, but the form needs essential functions.
7. Data retention
- Inquiries: Contact-form emails retained up to 24 months from last activity for customer-service, warranty, and legal record-keeping, then deleted or de-identified, unless longer retention is required by law or to resolve disputes.
- Consent / age-verification records: Checkbox + timestamp retained up to 36 months to demonstrate compliance (e.g., 18+ consent, cookie choice).
- Blocked minor submissions: Not transmitted or retained. Browser-side entries are cleared; server logs (if any) are minimized and purged on a rolling ~30-day basis.
- Security logs: Aggregated/rotated, typically ≤ 12 months.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to a small business contact site: HTTPS transmission, access limited to authorized personnel, strong passwords/MFA where available, minimal collection, and prompt deletion of unneeded data. No method is 100% secure; please do not send highly sensitive information via the web form — contact us by phone if sensitive details are involved.
9. Your U.S. privacy rights (all states, 2026)
We extend the following rights to all U.S. residents, regardless of whether your state law technically applies to a business of our size. Specific thresholds, exceptions, and appeal rights vary by state, but we will honor good-faith requests to the extent feasible:
- Right to know / access: Confirm whether we process your personal information and obtain a copy (including, where applicable under laws like Minnesota/Oregon/Delaware, a list of third parties — in our case: FormSubmit.co as processor).
- Right to correct: Ask us to correct inaccurate personal information (not available under Iowa law, but we honor it voluntarily).
- Right to delete: Ask us to delete personal information we hold about you, subject to legal retention exceptions.
- Right to opt out of sale / sharing / targeted advertising / profiling: We do not engage in these, so there is nothing to opt out of — but we will confirm that in response and honor GPC signals.
- Right to limit sensitive data use: We do not use sensitive data beyond what is necessary to respond/verify age; we will limit or delete it on request.
- Right to non-discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights (no denial of service, price differences, or degraded quality).
- Right to appeal (where applicable — e.g., VA, CO, CT, OR, TX, MT, IN, KY, etc.): If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying “Appeal” within 60 days; we will review and respond, and inform you of your right to contact your state Attorney General if applicable.
- Authorized agents: You may designate an authorized agent (or parent/guardian for relevant matters) with your signed written permission; we will verify identity and authority.
How to exercise rights
- Email trinex57@gmail.com with subject “Privacy Request – [Access / Deletion / Correction / Opt-Out / Appeal]” and include: full name, email used on the form (if any), state of residence, and what you want us to do. Phone requests: +1 (312) 358-9318.
- Verification: To protect your data, we will verify by replying to the email address on file and/or asking for two matching data points (e.g., name + phone). We will not ask for new sensitive data to verify.
- Timing: We respond within 45 days (with a possible 45-day extension where permitted, with notice). There is no fee for reasonable requests.
- California-specific notes (CCPA/CPRA): Categories collected/used/disclosed in the last 12 months are listed in §3–§5. We disclose retention periods (§7), do not sell/share, do not use sensitive data to infer characteristics, and provide at least two methods to submit requests (email + phone above). If you use an authorized agent, provide written authorization and we will verify directly with you where required.
State Attorneys General enforce these laws (California also via the Privacy Protection Agency/CPPA). We cooperate in good faith with lawful inquiries.
10. Communications (email / phone / TCPA & CAN-SPAM)
- By submitting the form, you consent to be contacted at the email/phone you provided about that inquiry only (transactional, not marketing). Message/data rates may apply for texts/calls.
- We do not add you to marketing lists, do not use autodialers/prerecorded marketing calls, and do not share numbers with telemarketers.
- You may opt out of further non-essential messages anytime by replying “STOP” or emailing “Unsubscribe” to trinex57@gmail.com. Transactional messages necessary to complete your request may still be sent.
11. Third-party links & FormSubmit
Our site links to FormSubmit.co (form delivery) and may link to other sites (e.g., vendor pages). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We are not responsible for third-party content, but we minimize data sent to third parties and avoid advertising trackers.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy as laws, technology, or our practices change (e.g., new state laws/amendments in 2026–2027). Material changes will be posted here with a new “Last updated” date and, where required, additional notice. Continued use after posting constitutes acceptance.
